Midi Controllerism Software (Win)

Nice Collection Of MIDI Controller Software

MIDI Controllerism

“I’d like to collect PC software here that will convert different signals from a variety of input devices into MIDI or keystrokes for use in controllerism. Please don’t clutter this thread with “Oh WOW” and “That’s great!” Start a new thread about that software. Just add links in the format I’ve started, and even add a quick description. Add any new categories, I skipped iPhone since I don’t have one.”

National Science Foundation CCLI Grant
Linking Science, Art, and Practice Through Digital Sound
This project’s objective is to develop curricular material that explains the science and mathematics of digital sound in a way that makes their relationship to applications clear, using examples from theatre, movies, and music production. This is a collaborative project among computer science, education, and digital sound design professors at a liberal arts university and a performing arts conservatory.
The intention is to engage students’ interest in science by linking it more tightly to practice, including artistic applications. The vision is to draw more students to the study of computer science by means of its exciting connections with art and digital media.

Hypercyclic: An LFO-Driven MIDI Arpeggiator for Mangling MIDI

Press Here To Enter The Site

“hypercyclic is an LFO-driven MIDI arpeggiator, gate effect and step sequencer for mangling MIDI input chords. It won 2nd place in the KVRAudio.com Developer Challenge ’07.Two tempo-synced LFOs can be used to modulate various parameters to create interesting rhythmic effects and chord variations. A unique feature is the possiblity to modulate the sequencer step size itself, which is useful for creating glitchy stuttering effects.

The sweetspot for hypercyclic is the narrow border between chaos and regularity. Or, in other words, how to induce a certain pleasant randomness, yet forcing everything to align again on the bar or beat boundaries.

The product is further complemented by a groove function for playing slightly off the beat. The groove parameters can also be modulated over time by the LFOs, adding to the rhythmic variation.
